“Be The Goldfish”
I am a huge fan of the show Ted LAsso and I love goldfish. So when the quote that this painting is named after was said I just had to paint or draw it.
The background was a paint pour because it felt perfect for a fish in water. The fluidity of the paint and the bubbles formed from silicone gave me exactly the feeling I wanted. It also let me still have an abstract background that I could react to based on how it flowed together.
I also wanted part of the goldfish to be neon because for me, being the goldfish is just letting go of people’s negative comments and uncomfortable situations created around being outside societal expectations.
