ASHLEY
VANCHU
With a versatile palette encompassing graphite, acrylic, oil, conte, printmaking, and gouache, my art serves as a window to a world of emotions, whimsy, and empowerment.
I find comfort and strength in the act of creation, as my creative process reflects the beautiful chaos within me.
I rarely start with a predetermined plan; instead, I allow art to flow organically as ideas grace my thoughts. In a world that often seeks conformity, I find liberation in embracing my artistic process’s unpredictability, allowing me to explore the delicate balance between control and surrender. Life experiences, nature, and the enchanting landscapes of fantasy and sci-fi books, movies, and video games are inspirations.
With a foundation laid at Queen’s University and Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art, and Design, my artistic endeavors have taken me on a diverse path. From mobile games to tabletop role-playing games and animated TV shows, I’ve navigated the realm of storytelling in various forms.
With each piece, I aspire to offer relatable, empowering, or simply delightful moments of escape. My art is a testament to the vibrant hues of life itself, and an invitation to others to embrace their own complexities, and to find relief and inspiration in the chaotic beauty that resides within us all.
